keep them

by Emily Davidson

there you are.
you're quite a distance away
but i could recognize your silhouette
across the earth

i know you well.
i've seen every type of smile
every form of laughter
i've seen you both excited
and dreadful

from this distance
i can look at you objectively;
i still want to climb into your eyes
i still want to taste your smirk

you're heaven to me.
(everything you've shown me
and everything you're yet to reveal)

i'm afraid
not of your secrets
but the fact that you keep them

sometimes i wish
i wasn't so damn crazy
about you

Nice piece Emily. It's a wonderous and yet scarey thing to know another human so well. To be able to look nto his eyes and read his soul.
