r-e-s-p-e-c-t, find out what it means to me

by Nanette Bellman

i'm getting pretty close
to hanging my coat up
or hanging you out to dry.

i'm always the one
who ruins our days together.
and you never let me forget it.

so when i never let you forget
i could ruin the rest of your life
you say,

"that's respectable."

just remember,
i can do it all in one breath.

This piece speaks thetruth. Respect is earned- not simply given. I liked the message you laid out. Good job!

can you do the lyric in one breath? if that's what yr also saying then this poem is gold.

this speaks a thousand volumes worth of text for your current status...when everything feels like a build-up to the next spoiled moment...it's hard to ever get excited. this poem is a modern-day guilted definition of what it's like to always be wrong. heavy stuff...but brunt and well-written as usual. excellence NB. ;)
