The Man

by John D Uzzell

Too many lives have passed through time
Without having a clue
Too many hearts have been broken in life
Not knowing what to do.

The story is told of a Man who's in charge
Of the way it's supposed to turn out
While this is true and it goes without sight
Why do we live in such doubt?

We mutter along looking ahead
Trying to figure a plan
Our minds are filled with fear and with hate
Loosing track, we turn to That Man.

The only time He comes to thought
Is when it has all gone wrong.
Make your peace, clear your mind
Or you'll end up waiting too long

Time after time for days upon days
You've felt it in your heart
You're not happy at all and your mind is a mess
What you need is a brand new start

So you look and you hope and you pray to the Man
To give you the strength and the thought
You walk all alone and you think of your world
And the lesson you've just been taught

It's all up to Him, but you make it yourself
Free will comes without a plan
Look back into yourself and all you have done
Just a decision away, make it while you still can
