redefine: life by Aaron Michaellife is like a bed of razors
so many angles and blades
and cuts and blood and
so little movement.
but i've much blood yet to lose.
so cut me life,
and make it deep
to the beating exposed heart
and all that fresh air
makes me strong. my lungs
will be filled
and i will sound all my
agony in a whisper
and the severing edges will pass
and my heart will beat still.
and the act of what i claim as my own
dissecting me is not malicious or vicious
but a test to find me worthy.
and i am.

Posted by Elizabeth Jill on 03/24/09 at 09:38 PM Isn't it amazing how all agony can be sounded in a whisper? All strength sounded in a poem? Worth founded in its author? Author finding all life? |
