The End of the Dragon by John-michael HatchDeep within the soul lies
a beast of power, the dragon
that dwells within my mind. Hear the cries of it's
suffering, the end nigh.
Humanity forgets the
serpent of dreams, killing
without thought. Once a symbol of kings, now only a fantasy, slaughtered by disbelief. Remember the dragon, and ressurect the heart of the legend. 03/21/2009 Posted on 03/21/2009 Copyright © 2025 John-michael Hatch

| Posted by A. Paige White on 03/24/09 at 04:32 PM "Humanity forgets the
serpent of dreams" I have an abhorrence of serpents. See it as a slithering, whispering bringer of lies, poisonous bites and death of dreams... I like this poem though because it made me think about what I think and why. From that perspective, a dragon would just be a modification of a serpent... on serpent steroids? Welcome to Pathetic! |
