The Nothing

by Alison McKenzie

Don’t you see,
The space that appears
Empty before us
Is the cord connecting
Souls and emotion,
Physicality and psyche?

It’s the nothing
That runs through the everything.

It delivers your breath
To my lungs,
Makes your DNA
Saunter into mine.

It’s the presence
Our eyes cannot detect,
But our hearts feel.

It’s the vibration
That moves us –
All of us –
Like the grove of trees
Swaying in the wind,
Their harmony
Come to teach us dance.

It’s between the notes
Of the music that rocks a world.

It’s the distance
From you to me
In the check-out line.

It’s the expanse
From earth to ozone.

Somehow, I know
The key is in the space.

Author's Note: This should be in the "rough draft" stage I suppose. I need to find some ways to say it more precisely.

I like everywhere you're going, and every way you're desribing the scenery. I'm enrapt. Keep it flowing!

(I often contemplate that music is universal language.)

I love all this says, all it offers visually, all it imagines nothing to be...a pleasure, peace, jewels
