A definition of I as it is written in 10 pages; page 3

by Vere Mantratriad

strangely enough
we always do our best to
give each other something to ignore.
it is an exercise of mind and body
precious detail, absorbed and forgotten
transformed and regurgitated to
meet further packaging and by definition,
utterly indefinable, yet the attempt is
something beautiful in itself but altogether
will never be enough but it’s alright to be
insufficient, it’s alright to be just alright
whether the purpose is doing any good or
just a recitation of something else that
could have been better if it hadn’t been
doomed right out the gate. still, personality
lies in wait, ready to strike and I have often
found myself dumbstruck by my own and
more so by the effects of others because it
bears some inherent need, a necessity of
flesh and bone inside something greater
even if that may be a great failure and if
only that could be remembered more often
it could save so much from heartache and
instead ache the walls it surrounds and seek
out remembrance in a single number instead
of the safety in many. ‘at any cost’ is a mantra,
accessible even to the cowardly, the forlorn and
forgotten despite any reason to the contrary
repeat it privately and publically all the same.
so pray for cohesion, beg the same for
coincidence in mind and heart, reason to both
is identical and immediately designed to last.
we go where the crowds are and stay where
they do not and keep it hushed for fear of any
translation that might be taken literally. take
the time to find another meaning where there
has never been one and remember that anything
that has to be known is probably not worth the
way of getting there, exceptional or not. covet
the greatest and reveal the worst in any situation,
and hold on to only the things that you would
die for any given moment. consistently grasp
inconsistency; we are whatever we choose to be,
so choose wisely, love fiercely, speak always,
seek and be sought after, never deny anything,
apologize only if you cannot live without it
and never,
never hesitate.
