Strangers

by Eric Seligmann

I watch people pass on a sunny day
Without a care in the world
I’m sitting on my park bench
Watching the world go by
They have no idea what blood boils
In my veins
They have no idea
What cold heart
Gives me pain
I could die and no one would care
All petty
Insignificant
Waiting for something to happen
To take action
When I take action now
To settle for nothing later
Later is too late for me
They have no idea
What darkness is
They have no idea
What grim thoughts
Run through me
I fear for my life
I want to carry a gun for protection
But knowing humans
If I did
How many people would die at my hand
In one day, one hour
Motherfuckers need to learn
When to shut the fuck up
To save my sanity
And grasp reality
