pick one, coming or going by Nanette Bellmani'm going to ask a man, a stranger,
to stick a two and a half foot wand inside me
and swirl it around like a kaleidoscope,
like he's mixing paint,
only to have him paint
a black and white image
on a black and white screen.
why?
because if you're going to
seek refuge in my reproductive system,
if you're going to use my uterus
as a safe haven,
i want to know you on a first name basis.
and if you all don't have names,
i want to give them to you.
i want to know which ones of you stay
and which ones of you come and go
like dead beat dads, always at your leisure,
at your convenience.
i want to know who to notify of your death
and what to put in your obituary
because regardless of what you want
or what you do or are used too,
you're all eventually going to go. 03/13/2009 Author's Note: because you're not staying.

Posted by Joan Serratelli on 03/13/09 at 06:01 PM This piece conveys your anger at the medical community. AGAIN- THEY WORK FOR US- WE PAY THEM- THEY DO NOT PAY US! I love this piece because of it's honesty and the message that it sends- GREAT write! |
