Tension

by Racquel Cervantes

there lies a hope inside tensions
of such cliches, as love and pain,
success and failure,
freedom and captivity,
the safe
and the seemingly so.
i'll always search for you
at the hem of dusk and dawn, upon
the meeting place of dreams and reality
-- the celestial heavens, wherein i dance
with what was and could have been.
if reason and passion
are to guide my seafaring soul,
then where may i pinpoint
stainless balance?
