The Karma Bell

by Jeffrey Parren

So I had a table
give me a horrible tip.

I mean horrible.

Ten percent
would have been nice

and the guy who paid
of course

lost his coat check tag

and came bumbling back
to hopefully retrieve
this vital
and little
piece of plastic

to get his coat.

Even if I did find it
I wouldn't
give you that tag

because like waiting on you
it would lead
to nothing good at all

although
the little giggle I have now
that you can't get your coat
on this freezing night

somehow just rings
the karma bell
quicker than I ever thought possible.

...a karma moment; glad you could have it...i told a kid[19-20] the other day that if he kept up his "stuff" he would encounter the campus Police, well he did and they did...so, voila! he is on criminal suspension...i inwardly chuckle, as you did...cute, good write.
