smile
or cry
or think
or want to be
monumental.

I want
a big old tombstone that
years --
no, centuries--
from now
will make people stop
and read
and wish
that they had known me.

So the puzzle now

What can I do today
that is the first notion
of the first twitch
of the first step
toward something
monumental

and will I do it?
