Power of a Kiss

by Jared Winkler

As I reminisce,
look over old letters
and conversations
with infatuations
I thought I loved

I am reminded
of those intense emotions,
of pain and anger
and, it's funny,
today they bring a smile.

There was a time
when I thought:
If I can muster up the strength
to kiss her on the lips
I could make her fall for me.

Well, I would have been wrong.
But, such innocence is refreshing.
That I had such confidence
in the power
of a kiss.

Kisses are VERY powerful. There are different kinds of kisses. I assume the kiss you're referring to is one of passion. You necer know- try it- it just might work! good write and a pleasure to read.

Brings a smile! A kiss seemed such an awesome and even fearful thing as I recall. You catch the naivete and innocence of youth.
