can’t we get beyond thunderdome?
by Vere Mantratriadpreoccupied with push and pull we
make our move for something more
and reach for things beyond our
tether that keeps us grounded but
there’s got to be more than one
reason to keep from compromising
so we spin and jump and hope for
help but nothing ever comes
we chalk it up to lawlessness as
though there were some general rule
that would keep all in line but
the truth is there’s but one
rule and it’s different for each
and it won’t stop and it shouldn’t
until one of us leaves
