I could be wrong but it seemed so right by Vere Mantratriadoh god
he’s coming over
oh god
what should I do?
I could try to
smile I could
just say hi
oh god
I could just
die if he noticed
if he noticed what
a mess I have made
oh god
what are the
lessons I have
never learned?
oh god
does he notice
how the words
just stick in
the back of my
throat? and
oh god
would it help
if I made myself
pretty or pretended
to laugh?
oh god
will he walk away
if I don’t
make him stay?
oh god
will he just
walk on by
if I don’t
catch him?
oh god
am I doing things
the wrong way
or is there even
a right way?
oh god
I should just
hang back
this wasn’t such
a good idea
oh god
oh god
when he smiled
I just rolled
my eyes
was that the
right thing to do? 03/03/2009 Author's Note: a friend of mine who is several years younger than me was telling me about this guy that she saw at the gym.
She went on for
five minutes
about how gorgeous he was and that he kept staring at her and she felt completely awkward and had no idea what to do.
so, with the rationale that only a female faced by a male who has caused a flock of butterflies to form a moshpit inside of her stomach, she did the only thing she could think to do:
she rolled her eyes at him and walked away.
we're strange creatures.
worship us.

Posted by George Hoerner on 03/04/09 at 02:46 PM This sounds as nervous as my wife would get when her mother was coming to visit. It moves rapidly towards the fear of not doing things right which is exactly what she, being a girl/woman did. But men to the same thing when around the "right" woamn. Well done. Very well done. |
