let me sleep by Charlie Morgandown the street Vitruvius and Da Vinci
were into a heated argument. seems
the man they drew was different.
Vitruvius going on about the navel
and how it centered, balanced man;
da Vinci naysaying that it was lower.
all that rigamaroll awakened the dead.
i saw italo, hollered. he waited-up.
what's all the noise? i asked.
them. they do this all the time.
well, write them outa this story.
it's that easy, italo queried.
yes, i retort, didn't he know?
was this a beggar dressed as italo.
the italo i know could write a tome
on the head of a an angel while she
danced and happily saved little kids.
those two. argue, argue, argue.
every day. they'll stop in a minute;
go their own way happily, finally.
i turn over and scrunch-up; sleep. 03/03/2009 Posted on 03/03/2009 Copyright © 2026 Charlie Morgan

| Posted by George Hoerner on 03/03/09 at 05:49 PM Charlie, I love this piece. When I lay me down I hope to run into a few of these ancients and maybe even a few new models. It sure sounds like fun unless of course you just want to sleep. |
