Observing Rudeness

by Wendy Sparling

Voices overlapping voices
And meek are swamped in innuendo
While the boisterous croak like
Bloated bullfrogs in season

Observing their conversation
I tried to speak but was interrupted
And found myself drowning in the drool
Of self-serving ignorance

The meek are not weak at all
Just polite observers of rudeness

Author's Note: This poem is not written for anyone in particular. I wrote it when frustrated, while I sat listening to a bullfrog.

Youch! Good one, Wendy. I do love the White frog though... I think they're so cute even without a toothy grin. ~;->

WOW, I recall a pond in an arboretum that I was in many years ago. It was mating season for the frogs and talk about being noisy and rude. Someone once said try to listen to others without think of what you response will be until after they have finished
