The Wheel

by Jared Orlando

I am as stable as a moving car,

About as motivated as a house cat,

I am as desired as a leper,

And as hopeful as a forgotten child.

My life’s as clear as stained glass,

About as planned as a child’s pregnancy,

It’s as smooth as a jagged horizon,

And as together as unraveling twine.

My eyes are as focused as 20/10 vision,

About as readable as the Iliad,

They are the sparkling color of red,

And as awake as a coma.

I am as stable as a moving car,

About as motivated as a house cat,

I am as desired as a leper,

And as hopeful as as a forgotten child.
