february twenty-sixth

by Ava Blu

when it's raining out
and the drops seem to be full of
hard anger and blistering water,

i see something on the horizon,
some purpose in the sky
that we will be able to
overcome all.

This sounds like a thought that runs across one's mind at three in the morning, when there's nothing else to do but listen to whatever you're thinking. It's a beautiful thought, and you say it with sharp, wonderful clarity.
