The girl lay like a
California roll baking
in the Georgia sun.
Lets get this straight:
that's sushi, an Asian cuisine, named
after a west coast state boiling
in an east coast heat.
Not much left to decipher at the scene.
Blue face paint dripped onto
dying leaves that crunched under his
boots as he walked away from her.
Pulling the tarot card of HOPE from his
pocket he smiled and chucked it over his
shoulder as he lit a cigarette and said:
"You need this more than I do,honey"
Memories of the tightest lock he ever
picked still taunt his aging body,
and from his front porch he watches the
children as they get off the bus.
Kara saw a man in the window last night.
He rubbed a box till' the wee hours of the morning
and snapped out of his trance to realize she was already dead.
They found him later that same day. He had taken two
revolvers to his eyes and pulled the triggers.
The girl lay peaceful, much like the first, her uniform
folded over her computer desk where she usually did her
homework.
A note lay beneath a milk jug of whiskey
"Now you can see into my mind without having to face my eyes."
