the girl with nowhere to go and everything holding her back by Ava BluI am always at the end
of every list
even when they say I am
top priority
I wonder when
they will ignore the demands
and recall how much I need
them
but maybe I don’t,
maybe that’s why I am last
because they know the need is not something
I am familiar with
so they can push,
pull
and tear through the desires of others
while I continue to sway back and forth
patiently
I’m number 632
on a list that only contains
10 people
but somehow the lines got crossed
and I ended up last
to a whole bunch of
invisible needs
it’s just as well,
just as it should be
since I never much asked for
priority
guess they figure if anyone could wait
it would be the girl standing in the rain
holding a broken umbrella.

| Posted by Nanette Bellman on 02/26/09 at 02:33 AM i don't know what you're waiting for but you certainly have enough of people playing cutsies with you. i can't blame you. |
