i still gulp before i say it

by Ava Blu

when I created the mess around me
I thought that would be it,
that would be the way into Hell’s backdoor

since then I have just been playing characters,
several different ones until I figure out which one is
actually me

some would say this makes me fake,
but I’m just a chameleon to my environment

I learned this trick from my mother
and her skin was always too thick

somehow I skipped out on the moments when we were almost family
and fell into the hole of what we never were

but I still say “I love you” back
when she says it first.

Life is a stage...we all plsy different roles at different times. chances are; they are ALL you! I'm happy you say "I Lovr you" to your Mom- she needs to hear it. Good write!

I really like the way this doesn't go into too much detail on any one thing. It touches a couple of different topics, still bringing them together at the end, but it never goes into a lot of detail for either topic. It just touches them, hits the exact right notes and tells us everything we need to know. I guess I'm trying to say that the details are still there, standing behind every line in this thing. I really like it.
