Acceptance

by Alisa Js

and if I were of some other genetic material
other than flesh,
would it matter?
could a machine perform the same tasks
without hesitation
as long as the components were fine
and in order
like clockwork, so they say
whomever 'they' are …

are we not spirit beings
in actuality,
merely inhabiting this body we call home
for some indeterminate time
without any actual guarantees of tomorrow
or next week
or even next year

and yet our conversations are filled with tomorrows
next week
and years to come
as if we know we'll be there,
but do we?

even more so each moment of time
is a wonder
a marker
that we even exist,
to share such a miracle is priceless
beyond words to describe
acceptance of all that is...

Interesting thoughts. I wonder what a robot model of me would be like. Hmmmmm. I like the real Alisa myself :)
