loneliness: [10] ten

by Brian Fuchs

I do not understand you. You throw us out, your supposed friends, left behind to search for a "better" path. It will end up the same. Can't you feel us convulse and see the tears in our eyes -- those you leave behind, leave on a whim. We loved you. We still love you. We were part of your experimentations... those you cannot face. Remember the afternoon of throwing leaves and the way a bride's face looks when she can't forgive, can't forget, but misses her friend. You hugged her, but is that all? Come home. We are all still here, your disposed acquaintances. We would take you in again. Pride will not protect you -- it will prevent you from seeing that we still need you. Stop running away from us.
