loneliness: [20] twenty by Brian FuchsI've lost those days -- the ones we spent raking leaves or having picnics or camping. The comfort of parents -- too strict, not strict enough, careful, careless, perfect, flawed -- those days are gone. I've lost those days -- the ones we spent tearing up toys and writing in books and Brent would get spanked, which made me cry. I would cry because I could not confess, too cowardly to bail my own brother from paternal doom. I've lost those days.
