truth and circumstance

by Jared Fladeland

holster the cannon
and look at the sunset,
feel the heat of a cold winter's night
against the back of your neck
and appreciate all the graces given to you.

gifts are given for free,
so if you feel a smidge of talent,
is it really a responsibility to do anything with that gift?

it is either that or you waste away
the power to change someone's life with an instrument,
a pen,
or the way in which you can build a fiber glass wind mill blade
every day for forty years
unknown by the world,
but contributing to all.

The worst advice one can give otherwise is:

grow up.

And a "gist" well worth saying Jared. A fine write. And words never quite come out the way we want. Almost as if there were a veil between the mind the hand, the time the message is sent from the emotional discovery, through the mind to the hand has somehow squeezed some of what we meant to say into some near to the target yet not quite square in the middle.

excellent thoughts to ponder here jared. most def. something worth thinking about. should you share it with the world and possibly change it or harbor it for yourself.
