Long Way Out

by Alison McKenzie

Today I fed a friend -
Good food and nurturing conversation
Healing stones and time,
Plenty of time.
Her hazel eyes sparkled in the sun.

She fed me, too,
Gratitude leaning my head to
Her outstretched palm.

Today I am full up and laughing.
Today I built castles and
The tide is a long way out.

Very refreshing write Alison, nicely done. Oh, but watch that tide it does creep, it does creep. I recall a castle I built once in the English wash. At sundown the tide said no more, no more.

...george's castles were man-made, whereas the castle you built will not be pierced or laid-to-waste like a sand castle...i see a bright day she helped you see YOU thru your senses of love...a soothing, happy, near-grinning face on this one...i wish to be that "her"...more happy that she glowers love over you, as it should be.

I have a friend like this. She is like an ocean of love. Our back-and-forths are more healing than any medicine in this world.
Heavenly poem, Alison. Heavenly.
