Every year it's the same fardling issue:
Calliope or one of her sisters
comes visiting to beg a favor.
"I'm dangling a neophyte
working on a fairy theme
and he/she/it wants for inspiration. Please?"

I'd take less affront
if their charges didn't all believe
we cavort around unarmed and naked.

Seriously,
do you know how many critturs
EAT people our size?
Not to mention metabolism -
I simply don't have
extra calories to burn generating heat
just to humor some wretched 'artist'
obsessed with the nude look.

If they weren't goddesses
and I wasn't two inches tall
I'd turn her down in two seconds flat
but at my size
it's bad luck to tick off
occasionally useful biggers.

So, for love of whichever cursed muse you claim,
at least leave me a thimble or three
of hot sugar water occasionally
and /maybe/ I'll lose that
"stop bloody staring at me
before I bludgeon you with a hat pin"
eye glint giving you conniptions
to paint around.
