I give you all my heart
dear valentine,
for I only have eyes for
you.
You licked up what's left
of my heart and swallowed
the eyes in one sitting.
Now I'm up to my ears
in Romantic Depot gift boxes
and bloody return receipts, reminiscing
on the days when boys could cut out paper
hearts and lurk under the bleachers during gym
to see between their legs and maybe see into the future.
Because I know Hallmark's got nothing on
Origami and spy cams.
