Wear me like clothes

by Vikki Owens

Reach inside me,
there is nothing in here,
you can put your arms in,
you can wear me like clothes,
I will walk around like a marionette,
I will let you pull the strings,
I will do what you do, say what you say,
I will hang on you like a shirt on a hanger,
I will be that close to you.

Reach inside me,
there is nothing in here,
my heart is nothing but a metaphor,
I am nothing but a tin-man,
you can crawl inside here,
and use my mechanisms for your own...
I want you to.

Reach inside me,
there is nothing in here,
I am bigger on the inside,
you can live in here,
I will make it safe for you,
I will shelter you,
if you will just guide me,
navigation systems at the ready,
align me with the stars,
there is the southern cross,
there is the northern lights,
there is Orion,
help me find my way.

Reach inside me,
there is nothing in here,
please come find me,
I think I'm lost.

interesting metaphor with the marionette, I enjoyed the poem a lot. I think I'll take a moment to read some others you have posted, keep up the good work!
