Vision

by Greg Williams

I had a vision,
felt I was falling far behind,
tried to illustrate my thoughts,
stay on the right track, come off as being kind.
Then I realized it comes down to perception,
what people think of you,
whether you talk or say nothing at all,
they might never understand your view.
I struggled with the vision,
realized it was a mere fantasy,
anything that most might see in this world,
is almost everything that I can't see.
It goes back and forth, between what I see in my mind,
yet if I open my eyes 90 degrees is missing.
Some days I start to look around,
walk circles, looking at spots on the ground,
take in the whole picture,
wondering what I overlooked that others have found.
I sort of start to wonder,
get a bit depressed,
run in wider circles,
tried to solve all the misconceptions that I've stressed.
Eventually you end up back in center,
the center of your walls,
think of how you missed the track the first time,
wonder why you had to clarify anything at all.
In the end time goes on,
another opportunity gone by,
but remorse for having done something,
makes you smile and think,
"Well at least you tried."

Good write Greg. We all have this vision of ourselves, the other, reality, what ever, and it is based upon our perceptions. I've begun to question this a great deal in the past year or two. Perception is something we rarely question. But is the blue you see the same blue I see? We are creatures stuck within this shell with certain receptors and a nervous system to receive and process data receiver through our receptors. And we all believe the process is the same for you as it is for me. I question that, but more importantly I believe stimulation each of us receives from our environment varies to such a degree that our overall vision of the same reality can be quite different. Once again good write especially if it makes someone think about their own perception of reality.

Some startling self-examination here. You do quite well with it indeed.

Who is a wiser man? You or George? Both!
