the cyst that rocked the cradle

by Nanette Bellman

i don't know where you came from
or what your name is
but i've always called you Plague.

who knows how many lives you claimed.
how many you took away.

i'm just looking for someone
to give me some answers
and whole hearted
honest to God help.

i'm not asking to be brand new
but some duct tape would be nice

because God gave me
the right to bare arms,
arms with fingers and a face

and i'll be damned
if i let you take that away from me

because God gave me the right to bare arms, arms with fingers and a face....perfect! i have a dear friend who couldn't have babies and it killed our relationship because i could. she thought i couldn't understand the depth of her sorrow. i lost 7 babies and carried 3 to term. i understood. this is a great write! thanks for sharing.
