The Mind of A Man by Nicole D GregoryHeading west was the
shortest route to
tomorrow
Somehow not quite sure
how that works
but no one can know the
mind of God
or of a man
I might have given up
trying but one is worth
knowing and both are a
challenge
My own mind is
a series of strings and
floss that are strung
among rafters
and connected to the cancers
that make me who I am
You were in love once
~ right ~
I saw the flesh and blood
you bound yourself to
and I have to admit
it took me
by surprise
Was it the easy route
Were you worried I
would never come along
or be in your life
I’ve traveled a longer road
than most ~ the road
without detours or rest stops
~now I am tired
and you are taken
Its okay
I’m heading east
and someone will be
happy to see me
but when our paths crossed
I loved seeing you
~N 02/06/2009 Author's Note: I hate the look of terror in your eyes when we cross paths; and I promise you I will never cause you any trouble or put you in danger. I try to reassure you; even though I don't believe my own words. Its easier to just walk away.

Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 02/08/09 at 02:13 AM I suppose so, eh? Nicely done, and I'd also say you did a pretty good job knocking me into some of my own pain on this subject. |

Posted by George Hoerner on 02/15/17 at 03:17 PM I've never had the please or the angst of meeting a previous lover. Not even sure I could recall their names. And now I'm too old for it to make any difference. Nice write lady |
