there's no such thing as an only child

by Nanette Bellman

even though i was born an only child
it doesn't mean, that i don't have more big brothers
than you can count on your fingers.

so some may have to come
via planes, trains, and automobiles.
they'll all come for the same reason.

there's only six degrees of separation
and little sisters always cry in desperation
because no matter where in the world we're at
someone, somewhere, has always got my back.

There you go. I really like your fire in this. It's obvious you're speaking to one very specific person.

This is so true!

You're very lucky to have such support! I have 1 sister and she could care less about me and my family. I like your take on being an "only child". It does put things into perspective. Good write!
