"Neverwas Werehasbeen, Pray" by Cristy M.Everything,
at once, in waking...
there is nothing anymore
for us to welcome in with
the fragrant sun that
washes out the sight with its aroma
of a breakfast that goes unate.
There is the nothing anymore
for us from which to
walk out our "good-bye"s
when we depart
into phantom walls
is a fog machine
is a hazing sleeping memory
is fountains dried and failed.
No more is this lion's eyes
staring out to orb's affection
sponging what it might have
captured in our partnered bliss
nor mirroring our singleface,
it is now as aborted in potential
quiet in its neverwas
clean after its razing
awaiting its new-lovers pair
so that they might make parents
not us, as we're a severed set
our will was forced in making.
In gentle indifference, you greet your day
while I rustle with no sleeping.

Posted by Julie Adams on 02/05/09 at 05:30 AM there is so much to chew on in this piece...the imagery and word choices are fresh and vibrant and breathing on the page...loved: "the fragrant sun that/ washes out the sight with its aroma/ of a breakfast that goes unate." and "quiet in its neverwas/ clean after its razing"....you are a pleasure to read, I look forward to more, peace, jewels |
