last night
i swear i could
feel your arms around
my waist

and the warmth
of you against my back

holding me as you always did
letting me fall asleep
safe and content
next to you

but i knew i was alone
and the panic begin to sink in
and the tears started to fall

and i cried myself to sleep
as i have done every night
since you said goodbye
