it won't be a case of mistaken identity

by Ava Blu

I’ve been tuning everything else out and zoning in on what’s right in front of my face
I guess the wheels start turning right when someone else takes over driving
you’re my Doppelgänger, my reason to plead temporary insanity and fill the flask again and again
I can’t seem to clear my throat enough to make you realize I need to say something
it could just be another fuck you, another fuck me from behind, but I doubt those are any consolation for the way you’re fucking someone else
add a little salt to those open wounds and lick the sweat off your brow;
I’ve had years to deal with the can of worms, and this closet of mine is coming clean.

I think it's going to make a lot of people think of someone from their own life. That's what I like about it. It's very personal, it comes from that kind of place, but it's also written in such a way that a person can put it to their own lives. That's a tough act, but you hit it brilliantly.
