you know, like that time we were at Dunkin Donuts
and we were buying a dozen
and you panicked at the last 4 because you thought
we were taking too long on our order
(even though there was no one behind us, and the place
was practically empty)
and you became afraid that the clerk was becoming irritated
(even though she showed no signs of that)
so you ordered 4 maple, which you dont even like
just to hurry up and be done and didnt get
the one with the sprinkles which you had your eye on.....

i constantly try to stay away from disapproval
like when you asked me if I was taking my medicine
(the medicine that you called the doctor and got for me
because you felt you had to do SOMETHING and didnt know what else to do)
the medicine that I didnt feel I needed to begin with,
but took twice just to appease you
and it made me so drowsy I couldnt get up for work,
but I told you I was taking it for more than a week because
I didnt want to see your face if I said no...
I didnt want to lose face in your eyes
I couldnt bear to let you down....
but I did disappoint you in the end, because the truth will out.

it comes from the same root.
