My remote does not talk
My remote does not balk

A channel number I push
The channel arrives in a woosh

All channels can be cycled through
My thumb effecting the continuous view

A small battery gives it power
Made of plastic it is never dour

It can raise the "volume" too
Or on "mute" I will hear nothing new

It can go back on channel "recall"
Sometimes my brain needs memory "install"

There are other buttons too esoteric to explain
Anyway, the remote is likely modest not vain

So this gadget of quiet humility
Gives me great TV control ability
Like the old temporal powers of nobility.
