Heart Burn

by Christopher Shin

Surging hearts
that beats as one.
My soul that lingers
as the taste
of you gone by.

I remember all,
but forget the
pieces of sadness
that defines me
oh so well.

She left me broken,
but now I remain
cold and bitter
with the changes
long gone.

I wish you were
here to see me now,
but even now that
is to late for the
sweet has been
replaced by the bitter.

And it ends with sadness
but begins wihth joy

I like that first stanza, because you can already hear the memory fading into regret, if that makes any sense. Good stuff.
