Talking to a Brick Wall

by Ryan Nardi

If anyone would want to listen,
I would want to tell them that I've been in prison
ever since I stopped rolling down hills,
since my hair stopped being blond,
since I stopped slipping in ponds
trying to step lightly over ice.

And now I've heard of Jesus
and Saint Francis
and the Dalai Lama,
and I've gotten answers
from several great thinkers
that say the thing we need is back behind us.

That always seems to be the way. Nicely put, man.

Listen and read listen and read. There are some fine thinkers out there that disagree so, listen and read!
