Just a Thought

by Thomas K. Hunt

Do you know that you’re surrounded?

By my thoughts that think of you

You can’t see them but can you feel them?

I wonder if that’s true.

Do you see me in your minds eye?

A vision from a thought.

Do I ever cross your mind?

For this answer I have sought.

  To me it’s been forever.

 First memories from sixty-two.

Green grass on Union and Theresa.

A silver jackknife that was new.

Calling out for Baron, he’s on the lose again.

 My memory takes me back.

 Back to way back then.

 Innocence ran through our veins.

 So young before our prime.

 Holding hands and writing names.

Carving hearts that fade with time.

A heart broken from a love no longer there.

Mortally wounded left for dead, far beyond repair.

All I have is what I give.

My thoughts of you each day.

Wondering if you think of me in thoughts that come your way.

Do you know this chain I wear?

You must, you hold the key.

Every thought I think of you.

Do you think of me?

Late night musings, I would imagine. You do some pretty good work with them.
