Crushed

by Elizabeth Hoadley

From me
to you
for us

I wished
and waited
then waited
and wished

upon every
star,
eyelash,
and four leaf clover

still fate
had not
happened...

patience is the
only companion
of mine
throughout
this game
and
it is running out

what to do,
when I know
you
are staying
when I know
I
am leaving

is what to do
when I know
I have felt
what you
have not

there is only
one thing left

to do...

place this
in a memory
so that it
is never
forgot

Some good wisdom there, I suppose. Heh. Nicely done.
