My Blossom by Alison McKenzieIn the back of my mind,
The recesses of rooms
Locked and forbidden,
You are there, bound -
Ankle shackles and weight -
My world heavy
Upon you.
My sweet wisdom come,
Keys to set you free.
Do not tarry, love -
Your release arrives.
Go now.
Fly!
Into the wind and beyond
My voice will drift to your heart.
It will soothe your ache,
But you mustn't hanker for it.
I am earthen, rooted and bound.
You are flight.
Go NOW!
Soar!
Don't look back
To these weeping eyes,
These hands clutching,
Empty heart.
I am closed to you now.
I am farewell'd and fallen.
So my desolation passes
In storms to springtime;
I will find my blossom
Without your heart to carry me.

Posted by George Hoerner on 01/16/09 at 03:17 PM "I will find my blossom without your heart to carry me" is a great line. And yes, we all have a blossom inside that must be held up for all to see. Some blossoms are sweeter, more colorful, but all blossoms deserved to be seen and admired. |
