Winter's Symbolism by Jeffrey Parrenis it odd
that i want to stay in
all the time
during the cold winter months?
i find myself
out and about
as much as the sun is
during the summer
and the dreary cold
locks me indoors
while adding
thirty to forty pounds
making me sluggish
and tired all the time
wanting to hibernate
and awake shadow free.
winter's symbolism
strikes almost yearly
and I am hoping
all goes well
and no one close
has to say farewells
far too soon
but maybe
a quick "see ya"
to the winter
and all its sadness
with whites not so innocent. 01/15/2009 Posted on 01/15/2009 Copyright © 2024 Jeffrey Parren
