i dare you to say we taste the same

by Nanette Bellman

you ask me to show you sympathy,
to be a little more understanding
and put myself in your shoes.

you say,
"do you know what it's like to be me,
to be doing this, having to keep both of you happy
and juggle work and everything else?"

let me tell you this mister,
i'm not going to empathize with you anymore
because you're the one doing this to yourself.

you could make the change.

but you've made your bed
                        now lay in it.

This is somewhat fantastic, I love the title, you always get me with some the simple becomes the tragic. Great read.
