Thoughts on Time

by George Hoerner

it seems the end of year december
and january the beginning
when time weighs on our mind
time seems to slow
asking everyone to think of it

february through november
we rush helter-skelter through
the minutes, days, and months
trying to please those others
those to whom we report
or who hold us responsible
for the foolishness
we see around us

but mostly it is ourselves
who point the finger
in the mirror of life
and say why did i
why didn't i

and silently time
waits until the end
of the year, janus time
at which point it slows
and says
think of what
you might have done

That's what I love/hate about time. It refuses to move the way I wish it would. Nicely done, as always.

Aloha George, this one reminds me of that saying..'shoulda, woulda, coulda'...lol.. we have to maximize each and every moment as today is all we have.. right now is all we can guarantee.. alisa ;-)
