Thoughts on Time by George Hoernerit seems the end of year december
and january the beginning
when time weighs on our mind
time seems to slow
asking everyone to think of it
february through november
we rush helter-skelter through
the minutes, days, and months
trying to please those others
those to whom we report
or who hold us responsible
for the foolishness
we see around us
but mostly it is ourselves
who point the finger
in the mirror of life
and say why did i
why didn't i
and silently time
waits until the end
of the year, janus time
at which point it slows
and says
think of what
you might have done
