Silence is Silver by Maria Terezia Ferenczsilence is silver
the silver of reflection
a shine so bright it hurts your eyes
tarnished silver put away
unused long ago waiting
to be cleaned
shown off at holidays
The silver of an old mirror
watching waiting as it too
flakes away
leaving only a transperancy
that we can never see ourselves in
Silence is the silver
of mercury
quick fasting away
dangerous rolling in and out of
itself and others
gathering
in places unknown unseen
never to return
but always sure to poison 01/06/2009 Author's Note: You made me do it George!

| Posted by George Hoerner on 01/06/09 at 02:37 PM A good write Maria. Yes, silence feeds upon itself. But I'm not sure if I prefer it to the "I'm fine.", which my wife hates. Or the "It doesn't matter.", which is even worse. Or the "Oh, it is raining?" which shows how little I care about the weather. |
