Lara

by Jolie Jordan

Lara speaks to me with glazed eyes,
the tip of her nose peeking over the top of her purple bong.

She's the most dedicated pothead I've ever been around in my life..

And she interrupts my thoughts of her right then,
Asking if I'd like a hit.

I wave the beer bottle in my hand in the air and exclaim that alcohol is my vice.

(I've been with these people for a week now.
They all have accepted me into their circle.
My boyfriend loves this. He tells me so. He tells me how Lara doesn't have a lot of friends so she's excited at the prospect of my potental move into this life.)

Great.

Author's Note: Mostly thoughts. Kinda using this as a holding area. (Obviously) unfinished.

this is cute, jolie. i feel like lara, but a little more outgoing. it's a great portrait - i feel like i know her already.

quick note...'potential' is misspelled in the last stanza.
