and i wondered if that was you or the whiskey

i wondered if it was the angry girl friend or you

i remember the early morning kiss on your couch
i knew there was part of you thinking of the consequences

i remember the final conversation and the ultimatum
thankful that i wasn't the one who made it

i remember all of these things
looking back on a year filled with changes
looking forward to a year filled with many more

i remember all the nights i cried
for you
about you
over you

i remember all the times i wanted to yell at you
to show you all the things that i felt
inside

now i think about the night you said you loved me
and i knew it was you
and it was me
